BIG Consulting Program

The BIG Consulting Program is a unique and exclusive opportunity for students to apply lessons learned in the classroom setting directly to real-world business situations. In conjunction with the Consulting & Business Development Center, the Business Impact Group is proud to provide four local businesses each quarter for students to develop tactical strategies for these businesses. Each quarter, four teams of five students will each help their companies grow utilizing their critical thinking and analytical skills to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to their clients. If you are interested in helping companies achieve their goals, creating jobs in the community, and strengthening the regional economy, BIG Consulting is for you!

How long is the program?

The program is typically 6 to 7 weeks long. At the end of the program, teams will give a final presentation to their client.

Who are the consultants?

Student consultants do not have to be business majors. We look for business-minded individuals who are eager and motivated to practice their civic duties, overcome challenges, and develop strategies to directly impact the local business community. Being a business major is a plus.

What's in it for me?

Each team also has two professional mentors from large companies such as Ernst & Young , Microsoft, Hitachi Consulting, Bank of America, Accenture, etc.

What is the average time commitment

Students typically are expected to individually contribute a minimum of 8-10 hours per week throughout the program. This time includes: weekly team meetings, client meetings, and independent work time. See FAQ for details.
